15. You can ‘spot’ fix a pair of glasses…any glasses…with your bare hands and a dinner knife.

16. You can play ‘guess the prescription’ just by looking at another child in glasses..and walk away confident that you’re guess is pretty darn close.

13. You get super excited when your neighbor brings over the hand-me-down Mrs. Potato Head toy they have grown out of and you realize that she comes with glasses!!!!

I laughed out loud about the ‘Brown Bear’ comment. We ALWAYS mention the ‘teacher’s glasses,’ literally EVERYDAY since its one of his favorite books. Also, we point out the Target store’s dog’s eye(red target) and call it ‘puppy patch,’ along with every raccoon saying that raccoon’s have a ‘patch.’

Number 4 is so true! In the “Brown Bear, Brown Bear” book, one of the first things C did was to point at the drawing of the teacher’s glasses!

Number 12. You’re used to the double takes that people do when walking past you.

9. You are on a first name basis with every person who works at the optical repair store.

10. You are so used to seeing glasses on your childs face that you’ve accidently put them to bed, in the bath and swimming pool still wearing them.

11. (in relation to #6) if you have to answer the questions “how did you know she needed glasses?” or “how do they test babies’ eyesight anyway?” you just might scream.
